SELFIE
The only person who truly knows you is yourself. This track is not about trout pouts or the ultra-ego #instapost. Regardless how you allow others to treat you for now, you can be sure of your SELFIE to rise above it when you are good and ready. Be kind.
Released 20 December 2015
LYRICS
Some sweet day
This world is gonna turn my way
Every time you leave
It's easy to perceive
Give me something to cling to
A big and better anthem to sing to
Every single time
A cloud with silverlining
I can be free in my own headspace, I can be
You can believe you can control me, wring out my soul
...but I got a selfie
Karma comes around
Feet firmly off the ground
Degree of separation
Is my medication
Seems my lonely point of view
Is rarely even listened to
Counting every clock beat
Marking a out long week
I can be free in my own headspace, I can be
You can believe you can control me, wring out my soul
...but I got a selfie
Some day i'll be unchained you'll be history far behind me
Some day in my wake you'll wonder why you ever liked me
I can be free in my own headspace, I can be
You can believe you can control me, wring out my soul
...but I got a selfie
You can believe you can control me, wring out my soul
...but I got a selfie

YOUR BUBBLE
Auckland house prices are going nuts while families living in cars increase at the same alarming rate. The world is self imploding, we're on the brink of WW3. But as long as the All Blacks are winning and you've made a killing on your property, you are safe and warm inside your bubble. Bless you New Zealand. Lay low and stay oblivious. Stick to your gossip magazines and reality shows. Ignore world events. Yup, that's the attitude. Not.
Released 28 November 2015
LYRICS
Front page outrage
Maddy's fallen off the stage
Kate's a little naughty with her no shows (oh dear)
WAGs are fighting on the beaches
All the boys observe their features
Just a little titalation for the paparazi lens
It's ok there is no trouble
Safe and warm inside your bubble
But how much is your house worth and did you see the game?
The world is always changing but you just stay the same
Greenpeace, climbing trees
Stamping feet, minorities
Just a little something to see you through the weekend?
Fighting for your birth right
Drinking on a boys night
It's all about priorities, crossing I's and dotting T's
It's ok there is no trouble
Safe and warm inside your bubble
But how much is your house worth and did you see the game?
The world is always changing but you just stay the same
Putin's playing war games
Corban's got his PR pains
Merkel's looking rattled by a kickback in the Bundestag
Dozen dangerous hot spots
Joining all the crazy dots
Did you see the bombers leave and did you count them back again?
It's okay there is no trouble
Safe and warm inside your bubble
But how much is your house worth and did you see the game?
The world is always changing but you just stay the same
You just stay the same
You just stay the same

SORRY
Not a typical OLDER track: not sarcastic nor observational, SORRY is a solitary thought, a private reflection. Written before the internet (yes kids, there was a time) and reworked, if in a solemn mood - it may be appropriate to turn up, with the lights dimmed, over a stiff whisky.
Released 4 November 2015
LYRICS
I could cry until the sun comes up again
Maybe the sun will never
I could sleep until the morning comes around
Maybe the morning will not ever
Just to let you know I'm sorry
I'm sorry
Maybe I need to write a letter
Open up lines of communication
Maybe you're ready to believe
I've suffered hard for what I did
I could cry until the sun comes up again
Maybe the sun will never
I could sleep until the morning comes around
Maybe the morning will not ever
Just to let you know I'm sorry
I'm sorry
Sorry
I'm so sorry
So sorry
I'm so sorry
Maybe I need to make a call
Out of the blue to talk to you
Maybe you're open to my voice
I've paid the price for my choice
Sorry
I'm so sorry
So sorry
I'm so sorry
So sorry

SLOW BLINK
JEL on the music: I imagined an isolated town dying on its feet with a single woman living there, no chance of meeting someone locally; going to the city on a mission to find someone and having no luck; always waking up in a retched lonely place. Think Alaska. Think tumbleweed.
JULIE on the lyrics: This one was inspired by a film script, not one in particular. Regardless of the storyline, there seemed a lot to say through a camera lens: the panning, the fading down, the odd comment thrown in by the director, the strange and incidental angles the camera picks up in an art house film. Yep, weird. I know.
It all started with a riff, actually.

LYRICS
Rolling eyes to the west
Slow blink (beautiful darling)
Blank stare and nod and away
Que the nightfall, bravado *splays*
Spills into the morning
Waiting for your soul to find you
No Miss Underestimated
Tears tips off Friday night nails
Molitof *swirl*
Where is your Gabriel?
Changing mind, altered view
(Repress) drowning baby
Centre stage, solo scene
(and fade)
Que the end game
Mascara fail
Seeps into the sidewalk *hail*
Waiting for your soul to find you
No Miss Underestimated
Tears tips off Friday night nails
Molitof *swirl*
Where is your Gabriel tonight?
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
Taxi to the city
No one shares your ride
The lights and sounds have faded to
An emptiness inside
(He) didn't keep your number
You know he'll never phone
Tomorrow you'll be facing another day alone
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
Everything is beautiful tonight my darling Gabriel
